Tweeter popping background noise

Whenever I have music playing, I have a very slight popping noise coming from my tweeters. It's consistant, happens every half-second or so. It's only noticeable in silent parts of a song, but at those parts it is very annoying.

I have tried different RCAs, different amps, different component sets, and different crossovers on my current components. RCA and power is run on opposite sides of the car. All grounds are done to the same location. The amp for my door speakers gets hot but the sub amp stays cool, so I doubt my ground would be the culprit.

I would try to ground my RCAs, but they are not built into the HU. I also have a bit of white noise through the tweeters. My gain on the components shouldn't be too high at all, as the amp does 230x2 and the components are rated at 75 each. I am overpowering them, but I'm certain that if I threw 3x rated power at them, they would blow almost instantly, so my gains must be set somewhat conservatively...

Did you check the speaker wires for your main speakers? Hook up a different set of speakers right next to the amp, if it doesn't make the popping sound then something's wrong with the speaker wires from the amp to the speakers or the speakers themselves.

Sounds like the ground loop is only affecting your tweeter amp. Also could be a crossover issue. Or, if your using a tweet with a tweetcap, then it might be blown. More details are needs about your wiring and equipment and settings. Also we need to know your listening habits. oh and also, you need to post pics of your mom, gf, gf mom, gf gf nudes to get proper response time.

Maybe my tweets are crossed too low? What should I cross them at?
So your running full active, I would look up the specs on the tweeters and adjust them according to the specs through the active xover around 4khz should work. Also what kind of source are you getting this noise through(IPOD downloaded music) or cd's? i have noticed that some downloaded songs have a tick or background noise that has been odd enough to get my wife to even say something about it(thinking there was a problem with the system) when it was just a background tick in the song somehow.

Not full active, running the CDTs in sig with a MB Quart PXD-216 xover. It's biamp capable, but I am not biamping because I have more power available with the amp bridged to two channels.

I only listen to music through the USB so that is a possibility. All my music is of good quality rips, and it happens on all songs; however, I can understand how the USB could leave feedback.

As for the specs on the tweeters I cannot find anything on them, except for this. CDT Audio COM-626 Component Set - Vertex Audio

That is a good idea, I will try messing around with the HPF and the tweeter attenuation and get back to this thread probably tomorrow. Thanks for your help so far. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No dice on either of those. I'm thinking it's either the USB on the HU or the HU altogether. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Any more suggestions? Also have a hiss coming through the tweeters.

Ground resistance at the speaker amp is 0.4-0.5 and at the sub amp is 0.2-0.3...should be acceptable levels, correct?

Also, tried running a wire from the HU ground to the battery negative and it didn't do anything for me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
