Tweeter Placement?

Its been way too long since I have done an install, and I forgot what to do here. I picked up a 1998 Dodge Ram truck. I ordered a DEH-X7500hd head unit, Morel Maximo 6 component set, box o' dynamat and I have an older Diamond Audio D3 400.2 amp to power them. I also bought some cheap Bostons I heard that I liked a lot to go in the rears for rear fill, those will be powered off the deck and probably fade them down a bit to my liking. Any who...

In the truck there are factory tweeters in the A-Pillars. Should I put the tweeters there? Or...

I bought a pair of 6x9 to 6.5" Speaker adapters(Scosche), should I put the tweeters in the adapters and just leave the stock tweeters unhooked?

I though I rememebr that you should keep the tweeters close to the mid range speaker as possible, but the way the factory locations are pointing the tweeters out, it seem like they would provide better imaging maybe?

Your thoughts?

Tweeters in the A-pillars are a drop dead easy way to get the voices imaging above the dash. It is better to have the tweeter within a few inches of the woofer in a component system, but if the woofer is low in the door that means the stage height usually suffers. One simple solution to this is to add one of the CDT Audio UpStage image tweeter systems, of which 2 of the models use a specially designed tweeter that attaches directly to the windshield with double sided tape.

My 2 cents.

Well I ended up having to install them in the doors. The factory tweeter locations where way to small for those tweeters. I probably could have made them stick in there with enough glue or epoxy or something like that, way too much work and I don't think I have the skills to pull it off cleanly.

Good news though, they sound amazing in the doors. I had a couple friends listen to it and then I would ask them where they thought the tweeters where, and both said they thought they where in the A-Pillar anyway. I have to hand it to Morel, for the money that's a tough set to beat.

Morels are great speakers, their staging is excellent. I have a set. Of Morel Tempo 6 comps with the tweeters in the doors also, I swear that the tweeters are in the A pillars which I couldn't get my tweeters into also.
