Tweeter mount. You need to see the pics to understand what I want to ask.

I'm wanting to make some mounts for my Civic right in the extra side mirrors up front. I'm not sure of the best way to go about this. I've never used fiberglass before. I've thought about just getting a thin sheet of wood, cutting it to the shape of that window, wrapping it in vinyl and putting it in that spot. Not sure how I could secure it though. This spot would be pretty good IMO for imaging, and much better than just up on the dash like they are now. Any ideas of how I could secure wood there. Or if there's another way to do this install? I'll try to get someone to take a picture of the interior for me since I can't right now. In the meantime, here's a picture of the outside of the car, and circled is the window I'm talking about.

fiberglassing would be best. for a pod right there would be simple you would need to do too much with the fiberglass. dont me not matting or anything just a could layers of resin and t should be fine. just tint or pain that part of the window solid black and as for mounting it u can use silicone or anything that sticks well.

now the question is do you know how to fiberglass?

What the fuck are you talking about? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

if it were me, i would try getting a piece of 1\4" wood (or whatever you can get that is really thin) and make a template of that shape out of some cardboard. cut it out of the wood and then use that as a base for your tweeter. get the pods that come with the components and attach them to the wood with some CA glue and use some bodyfiller round the edge of the tweeter mount to make a nice shallow curve slope. then spray with some SEM satin black to match the dash. spray the back of the board with the stuff too.

see if you can make the piece of wood bigger than the window, and put the edges of the wood behind the plastic trim of the A pillar and the door?

mounting would have to be creative. but im sure it wouldnt be too dificult

^^ Pretty much what I was going to do.

My problem is mounting though.

Here's some pictures to help get an idea. Not as close as I can get later though.

yea take the plastic trim pieces off that thing and make the board larger than the glass. then just use a little bit of black silicone round the edges to keep it in place.

pop the trim panels on and it should look like it fits back there stock //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Lol, the interior shots are not of my car guys. The first one is, though.

I wish I could keep my car that clean.

Reg, I understand exactly what you're saying with the board, except for the silicone part. Care to give me more info?
