The 21"er is gone...I just have a pair of original 10" Assassins that I'll be running off a 4 channel(not sure which configuration of 4 channel amps I'll use, but I have three at the moment, all around the same 4x100 power). 4ft^3 at 30hz is the plan, but I might do 28hz like the last box I had for them.
In all honesty, horns are 99% not going to happen. I'm about to get some of those TB 3" bamboo fullranges that a few people were praisig at diyma. Since I'll have my midranges and tweets aiming right at me, paper cone mids and soft dome tweets will be my friend I think. I tried those mids in the photo above, which are made of aluminum and magnesium, and they'e just too bright diretly on axis...I like a more laid back sound.

I heard good things about the FR88, I believe Madisound has them in stock finally now.

Im going to be real with you, I have heard them before, but I have heard the same for a much cheaper price. I honestly feel its completely overpriced. No Tweeter should cost more than ~$100 in my books, there is still plenty of profit margin.

Look into some of the large format tweeters with a 24dB slope and probably cut back the power to them. Not ideal but would probably work...

Ideally if running 8's you should be looking into a 3-way set up...

Since I am running 8's I'm going to stick with a 3-way...I'll be ordering those bamboo coned mids soon. The only time I'll run 8's in a 2-way is with some horns.

Nobody is coming out with the XBL2 tweets yet for sale. However ADI did develop them, they are ready to be picked by an OEM to sell. I(and a few of my fellow DFW friends) was fortunate enough to be able to test the final proto.

They are cosmetically identical to the Tang Band Ceramics that you can find on Parts Express. But they are very different drivers, different diaphragm thickness, motor topology, and coil. I have the ADI and the Tangbands right now, the tangbands are in my car at the moment. I am waiting to hear back from Wiggins to ship the ADI's back. The XBL2 version can be played down to 1.2khz! Whats funny is they sounded better playing at 1.5khz than 2khz at a 12db slope!

As far as the differences between the TangBand and the ADI sonically, the ADI obviously plays lower better with less distortion, but in the top end(5khz+) they sound identical in my opinion.

Me and a my friends have been pressuring a lot of companies to pick up this XBL tweet to OEM it. I just hope whomever picks them up wont overprice them too much, they would use the XBL as leverage, plus patent fees, it will be tough.

If they ever did come out I could use my 1.6khz crossover point on my 8053, and probably get away with some different 8's using a 1.25khz point with a 18db slope....but, can't sit around waiting, gotta start planning the 3-way.

I have my TangBand Ceramic tweeters currnetly crossed at 2k. 18 db/oct., ran off HU power, and it's more than loud enough for me.
