Tweeter Crossover Order?

If a passive xover has 0, 3, and 6db options for the tweeter hookup, what does that really mean? Is it similar to tones?

Yes, sort of.

It's wrong to think of it as an "order", because that would imply different crossover types and steeper attenuation curves. What they actually mean are more like recording levels, where -3dB is more attenuated than 0dB, and -6dB greater than -3, etc...
