Tweeter comparisons - high quality only

I have a DynAudio 3 way system in the front and a MB Quart 2 way system in the back. Unfortuantely, the MB Quart tweeters are a bit too shrill (bright) and although they are only used for fill, they just dont blend well. They are crystal clear but the intonation is too metalic. (I know many will wonder whay I even bother given the front end - answer, just my preference)

Since they are in the back and used only for fill, what do you guys think I should look at? I really want high quality and clarity but not the

"tin-i-ness". Here are the tweeters which have been recommended to me:

RE Audio TW 1, Silk Dome OR High Energy Audiophile-NEVER HEARD OF THESE

Infinity Poly cells

Focal TN44's

Alpine SPS 1005 3/8" Type S

JL Audio TR050-CT

JL Audio C5-075CT Silk Dome's

New Diamond DiT

(New) MB Quarts QM 10 HC (Evidently these are much smoother & milder..?)

All input is appreciated

If you want smooth tweeters, look at CDT. Their DRT-26 silk dome is just buttery smooth. Basically, take your list and dump everything but the Focal and the RE. You'll be disappointed with everything else.

Excellent feedback! You are confident with RE's? I have never heard of them before... There are a bunch of sites selling their tweeters for only $45/pair which seems remarkably cheap for something "good and smooth"

Using the DynAudio MD100's as a benchmark, how do these recommendations above compare? The MD100's are broad, smooth and VERY nice. Not brite or harsh but very clean...

imo the drt 26s are the best under 200 a pair, you can get the for 130...i don't trust re..

the focals are detailed in the midrange, but there brite on rock..
Good info. What do you mean when you say you dont trust RE's? Not reliable? Not good quality? Not consistent? etc...?

check out rainbow
personally i like the drt for the money..the rainbow slc is nice but the drt is more comparable to the RB germanium silks..

i love the dynaudios there power hungry though..

the drt 26 silks are laid back, the 26 alums are still smooth just a bit more output up high..

honestly its really hard to recommed tweeters..if i had 200 or less the drt,250$$ helix s801...
