Tweeter amp question.

I've found out from a youtube video that allegedly amplifiers "split up" their power ratings for lows, mids, and highs, the numbers shown were 60% for lows, 30% for mids, and 10% for highs.

The guy said even if you got 2 tweets connected to a 500w rms amp, they will only see 50w rms, or 25w each.

Is this true? In that case I would need a 1000w rms amp to fully drive my 50w rms tweeters.

I would use google or search but it's a difficult question to phrase into a search engine! Nomsaying? haha

Thanks.

what kind of horse sh*t are you watching? if the amplifier does rated power only only need 25-75 watts to run your tweets. the 75 is just for head room just incase the audio recording calls for it.

Lol, it's just some guy who makes reviews of Alcohol and Car audio. Maybe he's drunk.

He sounded like he knew his sh1t but that's why I'm here doublechecking.

So my tweeters will be able to pull as many watts as they can from the amp?

if the recording calls for 75w but amp can only provide say 30w will it burn my tweeters due to clipping?

i used to just run tweets off hu 16rms is all they need, i don't like my ears to bleed..
That just means you never did a proper tweeter setup back then lol. Hopefully thats changed.

Ears bleed from poor sounding peaky tweets with no real sound processing to control them. Each vehicle has different acoustics which calls for different crossover points and slope along with a comprehensive built in head unit eq to tame them along with bringing out all the details and soundstage.

Putting 145 watts to each of my tweet and they are rated for 80 watts rms, but they sound buttery smooth with no harshness, can listen for hours loud with no fatigue.
