Hey gang!
This is my first experience with a box that i actually bought knowing what tuning frequencies, sizes meant exactly, etc. etc. But anyways, i'm running 2 alpine type-x 12's in 2.0cf each tuned to 30hz. Right now i have my subsonic filter tuned to ~25hz.
My last box was a sealed 1.0cf box with a rockford p3 10" in it, and one of my favorite songs to listen to was 'intergalactic' by the beasties, and i've noticed that with my 30hz box that song, and also 'award tour' by tribe called quest sound really really sloppy because the basslines are semi-fast and right around 30hz.
I was wondering if turning my subsonic up, closer to tuning could tighten up the slop around tuning, or if this is just something i have to get used to?
My only other ported box i've owned was a 45hz box with a 15" l7 in it, and that was sloppy on almost ALL music without slooooow steady bass lines, line old school dr dre, etc. But i expected a lot more accuracy with a 30hz box, and these two songs are making me mental!!!!!
Anyone know if there's a setting i can tweak to correct this, or are the basslines just too fast and low for my box?
Thanks!
