turned off int amp no sound

Hi all i recently tries turning off the int amp on my alpine head unit hoping to use my alpine ext amp only to run power and get no sound at all how do i get this to work using the external amp for power and head unit as control/pre amp only.any ideas on what to try are welcome thanks!

you do have your front speakers connected to an amp i assume.
