turn up bass boost or gain first one amp?

what dB meter?
if you turned off bass boost, used a DMM and set it with a -3dB test tone you should be good!

-3db would get louder than 0 db wouldnt it?

I dont know what kind it was but it was a 3 piece thing. It had the actual mic that went on the dash, then a cable connected to it connected to the device showing the reading. He said it was 3 db off from termlab.
