My sister just got a system install with a amp and one twelve, every time she turns her system on it makes a loud thump!!!! What the hell is that and how can I fix it casue i think its gonna blow her sub or something casue it doesnt sound healthy!!!! Please Help!!!!!!

It sounds like you may have gotten yourself an old amp. Almost all newer amps have a "soft turn-on" which waits a second or two to turn on. This avoids the "THUMP" that you are hearing. What kind of amp are you using?

i hooked my old sub up to my home reciever (from the 70's) and it too went THUMP on shut off, not turn on though, so it's prolly an old amp that does this

yeah not all amps have that soft turn on switch though which sucks. many people don't recognize that RF amps all of them do that, or at least my bd1000.1 and my friends bd1500.1 did that when it turned on. both were 2001 model's just to throw that in before someone says prolly old amp.
