does anyone think an SX can get loud and sound good tuned real low? i'm thinking about tuning to 30 (from 35) so i can gain a lot of sq...

i don't want to buy a new woofer if a really low tuned box will be worth the 30 bucks for a new box

30 to 35 is still going to sound good and loud. Under 30 you might start getting more sq but less spl. Ive seen several people on here tune their SX to 35. I had my SE at 32 and I couldnt say it sounded sloppy or had bad sq. I know its a different sub but Im sure it should be the same concept except the SX should be a lot louder.

i like my tuning low, usually around the 30hz area, a 28-32hz is usually my area. You might loose some of your mid-frequency response, but you low end will rumble.

28-32 is where it's at. the lower the better though. Personally, I'm a 26-28 man.

just try it. if you can build your own box then go for it. you got to experiment. materials should be under $40 you are not out a lot

I liked my tempest and Ti tuned to ~24Hz, btu I want to try 32 to see how it is being high..

buddy juss give up, come on over 2 the R side. i think the sx likes the high tune. i didnt like it tuned low. had mine tuned 2 38hz and it was nice, but loss sq.
