Tuning into the low 20's?

Who here has experimented with tuning around 22-25 Hz? I'm looking at WinISD and I've managed to create a pretty flat response but at 24 hz. This lets me be down to 25hz still showing at 0db.

Anyone tried this? There are a bunch of songs out there that have content from 22-28 hz range. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and their results. Seems everyone just wants to tune around 30-40 hz

use a sealed box if you wanna go that low.... that way you can just turn the subsonic on your amp off..

I think 12 12"s on 24K would be sick at 24Hz.

Well, I initially thought that as well. But after putting a sealed configuration side by side, it shows like -11 db at 25hz. So with the ported it would be (theoretically) much louder at that frequency.

sealed set-up will also keep your subs together at that low of a frequency...

try it, but once your box goes in the car all that winisd shit goes out the window, I have seen a few people tuned to 28

28 is the lowest I've tried in a car...below that doesn't really make much sense. Cars have a ton of gain at the lowest frequencies and their isn't much musical content that low anyway. Your port also becomes way too long or your box way to big to tune so low...just not worth it IMO.

X2 28-30hz is as low as i'd go!

Rio on here is tuned to 26hz in his van.

If I ever get off my ***, my next box is goin to go between my seats for a center sonsole style. It will have an external aero so I can change tunings.

Really depends on the kind of music you want to play. If youre looking for a super flat response go for a relatively big sealed box. If you want a loud super low end, go a ported tuned real low or even a bandpass. I like playing a bunch of slowed down music, so Id tune my box in the 20s.
