Tuning HELP PLEASE!

I need help figuring the correct frequency to tune my box to. Im running two 12" W6's. I like the powerful lows that blow peoples minds, but i also like to listen to rock alot and like the powerful kickpedal. JL recomends a tuning of 32.2Hz, is this the correct frequency for what i want?

Examples of music,

Rap: mostly old school like Wu-tang, Westside connection, old eminem, but i also like to listen to like project pat and three 6, mostly for the strong bass lines.

Rock music, like soundgarden audioslave nirvana.....bands like that.....and then alot of classic rock......

hope that helps to choose a frequency.........is 32.2Hz good for this?

32.2Hz, thats funny. Tuning around 32 should work, your better off going with the freq JL recommends for that sub. Just don't think your gonna be able to tune it to exactly 32.2, not gonna happen.

i know 32.2 is funny, and i know its EXTREMELY hard to be accurate......seeing as i have used many box calculators that i have found on the web, and they all give me different numbers for slot length.....about a 2 in difference......anyone know of a really acurate site for port lenght?

on another note...i know its good to stick with manufacture specs, but i guess im wondering if 32hz will be the bass im looking for based on my music selection?

tuning that low should be fine for your music. The best way is gonna be build the box to JL specs, then if you don't like how it sounds find someone with a Termlab and test the box and see what it's really tuned to and adjust the port accordingly.

32 hz sounds great

i listen to rap and a classic rock and it has just about the right depth of bass
