Tuning Freq?

I want to build a 1.5 cubic foot vented SQ enclosure for my Infinity 100.3 dvc (10" Kappa) subwoofer. I am thinking of building it according to the recommended box on Infinity's website. My problem is that my 200w mono Alpine amp doesn't have a subsonic filter. If I tune the sub between 27 and 30 Hz, could this cause distortion or damage to my sub? (The sub supposedly plays down to 20 Hz @ -3db I believe.)

Also do you think 27 Hz is a good tuning frequency for this SQ setup?

thats good enough. as long as u dont play 20hz tones all day, u should be fine with normal music and no subsonic.
