tuning a port/cu.ft??

you tune the enclosure by increasing or decreasing the length and width of the port.

and you want to select a frequency that will help you get the flattest frequency that you can get out of the sub. if you're in to spl. then you will tune it the a frequency that will accentuate a freq that the sub plays the loudest at.

okay my 2 subs have a freq. range of 26-1000hz.how do i know what size port to use as far as width and height and how to determine the freq. range?I'm lost.I'm trying to prevent myself from buying a pre-fab box again and actually build one to the specifications of the subs.

well

you can use winISD to calculate the box internal volume and port configuration.

you can usre mobilede from mobile dynamics. to help you calculate the box phisical dimensions.

from the car audio help guide, link "carstereo.com"

the 12Volts site lots of info, link "12volts.com"

from crutchfield advisor, link "How to Build a Subwoofer Box"

and link "Finishing and Customizing Your Subwoofer Box"

and the last one, link "calculating enclosure volume"

i hope that helps
