Tuner here-- New to audio, making custom fiberglass set-up need BEST 6x9, 6.5" units

i didnt say ur car wasnt turbo i said it wasnt a tru dsm its not a dsm if it doesnt have the sticker under the hood on the passenger side on the top of the firewall where it says dsm right on it that is just a mitsubishi eclipse. Chrysler sold its equity stake in Mitsubishi in 1993, and Diamond-Star Motors was renamed to Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing America (MMMA) on July 1, 1995. technically ur car isnt a dsm its just a mitsubishi but it still looks nice no doubt it can beat a stock gsx but a gsx with equal ammount of work would prolly trash ya

It's a Mitsubishi heavy Industries TD06- Super 20G. Stage 5 upgrade for the 420a. Hahn racecraft has run 10's with my set-up. Unfortunately, I cannot tune a car as well as those ****ers! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif But I will get there eventually.. Need some more dyno time..

Well, I'd like to stick to dealers. If ebay carries quality compnents then I will go there. I'm not trying to spend more then $150 for a set of 6x9's. Same thing for the 6.5's...

I just want something that wouldn't be amusing to audio guys at a show. I heard RE sold nice stuff but apparently they were bought out by another company.

Anyone have a link for the Rainbow corp? I'd like to check them out..

Oh yeah, Philly is the shit.

no doubt...

your saying you would whoop most dsm's ***** but with HALF the work, hell just bolt on's a 1g gsx would embarass you

what part of philly you from and well 150 for 6.5s you can get some ok speakers take alook in the classifieds always some good shiz being sold and check out sonicelectronix.com

along with tuneing im assumeing youve seen the AMS evo like 9xx HP and the guys just go out on the streets and dick people talk about good tuneing

No. It wouldn't. Seriously, if you could buy one and run low 12's with bolt-on's we'd see alot of them on the road. That's pretty optimistic.

Why you hating man? Nothing nice to say... I'd run a 1g AWD with bolt ons, I have before and I was only @ 10psi. Give me a break dude give credit where credit is due. You think that factory turbo guys came with some ridculous 300HP motor? Naw. I know my shit about these cars so please keep it factual when you make statments...

Anyways, anyone heard of RE? Or a link to the website? Sorry buddy, I 'm not telling anyone what part of philly I'm from. ALOT of money into this car. I can't risk anything. No offense.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

alright no problem i think ive only seen 3 maybe 4 people from pa ever post on these forums anyway but yea i mean who on this forums hasnt heard of RE, i think its reaudio.com

Ok, since no one has posted anything about audio, here ya go. You dont want all that garbage in there, if you want good SQ. If you want to look cool, just go to walmart and buy a dozen X-plod 6x9's. But you would be much better off running one set of 6.5" components mounted in custom fiberglass kickpods, a 12" sub, and an amp for each, that's all. Rainbow Germaniums are a crowd favorite for 6.5" components, and run around $450, pm 6spdcoupe for more info on them. As far as subs go, everyone has their favorites, but I love my Boston G-5.

That's what I intend to do. I've already made the door panel, but I need to finish my add-ons after I get the actual speakers. The MDF rings have been the hardest to find without paying up the *** for shipping..

I;m also laying some carbon fiber sometime shortly. We'll see how that goes..

Thank you sir. I appreciate the info. I will google the comapny and see what I can find. If there anyone on this site whom can direct me to a reputable vendor?

Holy hell guys, those speakers are EXPENSIVE!!

I'm looking at something a little cheaper, for sure. Rockford fosgate POWERs sounded OK in my buddys car. BUt like I said, what do I know about audio...

Any other brands for less money but simliar quality?

I;m thinking of painting my interior first, then try to find a sponsorship somewhere to save some money after it's in show stage...

Rainbow's bottom end set runs 250 or so I think. Maybe a bit over budget, but they are supposed to be nice for a entry level set, really nice in fact. You'd be looking for rainbow SLC's. There are a few authorized dealers on this site who might be willing to chime in. For a subwoofer, would you be looking for sound quality, or loudness, a bit of both?

With all due respect to your budget, spend a bit on the equipment. Youve surely put the time and effort into the work to accomodate them, so why cheap out on the products themselves?

As far as the Rainbow sets, yes cheaper prices can be had, BUT...this is with the assumption that you will be attending shows? If so, depending on the types and where sponsorship may be in the works.
