tsunami or jbl?

of course i can get a tsunami 1100 watt at 1ohm for 235 but should i opt for the jbl1200.1 instead? i ask this because although it does lack a subsonic filter it says that it is able to run at 1 ohm at sound domain. is that true? and with the pricematch thing i can get it cheap.

In my opinion, go for the Tsunami. $235 is a hell of a price.

I've just had too many JBL 1200.1's do funny things at times. You can run it @ 1ohm. But you're right, it doesn't have a subsonic filter ... people tend to complain about the crossover and controls in general on the JBL.

Yeah ... the JBL's still do funny things on you.

The Tsunami will do about 1200 watts @ 1ohm ...

The JBL will do ~ 1300 watts @ 1ohm ... big difference, nope.

Welll i run my JBL 1200.1 at 1 ohm. Im a believer that the people with all the JBL problems are treating the amp wrong (gains too high, Bass boost cranked, crossover up too high). I admit the crossover isnt the best it makes a big difference by just turning it up a tiny bit more. But mine is great and puts out a hell of a lot of power for my SE's.

I heard the Tsunamis are nothin but great as well. So make ur pick

1200 vs. 1300, not a big difference. plus the cheaper price and the added ssf do make the tsunami more to my liking. i appreciate the fast replies.

You're right ... it's not that big of a difference ... I doubt you'd notice in sound.

I have owned both, and they both are great amps, nothing really bad to say about either one. The Tsunami is kinda weird right outta the box, intially it doesn't play for some reason, but in a minute is begins to pound. Maybe it was just me....

and 1200 and 1300 are a little overrated for me, closer to 1150 and 1250.....
