trying to wire my sa8s

trying to wire up my pair of dual 4 ohm sa8's to one ohm on a sax1200d amp. im following this diagram but im trying to stuff two 12ga wires into some of the posts and it doesnt fit. should i cut some of the strands of wire off or use 16ga wire? also the amp is monoblock but has output terminals for two speakers which do i hook the wires up to?
