trying to move on to bigger and better things finally

so i just figured out that i'm going to start moving on in my life. i live in detroit area currently, but after a long talk with a relative, i decided i'm going to do everyting i can in the next few months to move out to Las Vegas to continue pursuing my career. I'm super excited(not just because it's vegas) and i'm spending all day tomorrow researching the unions over there so i can hopefully fly out soon and talk to shop owners and stewarts. At 21 years old, it feels like such a huge step in ilfe.

it's nice to actually make steps towards improving my life.

just wanted to tell someone other than my mom lol

Currently I paint and prep displays for the North American International Auto Show, which in detroit is only viable about 5 months out of the year. Start prepping in mid august, and if i'm lucky i make it until mid jan without getting laid off.

so at the beginning when i get out there, i'll just go work at a display shop, doing work for the rediculous ammount of conventions they have out there, but lately i've been trying to push my career more towards custom car paint jobs, so hopefully within a year i can start doing that out there, but i think LA would be a better place to do that...

just trying to get the ball rolling.

Sounds like a plan, with the amount of shows they have out there you will have little to no problems finding a job. Not sure about the demand for prep display painters, but I'm sure it won't be hard for you to get going on your plans, and then find something in the automotive industry. Plus better weather than Detroit usually means higher demand for custom paint on cars.

the weather is like the BEST thing about moving out there. i'm so sick of michigans shit weather.

the only downside is my 79 beetle won't be so uncommon. everyone has those horrible mexican beetles out west //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif (oh well at least mine will still be authentic and german)

LV is hot in da summer, spring and well they have no other seasons lol. night time is nice though as it drops to like 55-70ish. my girls friend moved to reno for school last year and hates it but that's b/c she misses austin. good luck though man hope LV treats you well.

100 with no humidity is better than 90 with 80% humidity any day.
