Trying to get something ordered ASAP

I just registered here and it has been quite some time since I have done a system build of any type. I am looking to surprise the girlfriend with a pretty mild build for Christmas. She has an 07' Honda FIT. I plan on upgrading the door speakers to some sort of component setup after christmas sometime but was wondering if you had any recommendations for something not tooooo wild? She listens to anything and everything from Taylor Swift, to TI, to Breaking Benjamin, typical girl ****, ect. I am really looking for a nice versatile system with some decent punch. Originally I was thinking of doing an 8 or two in a sealed enclosure and hadnt even begun thinking about an amp. I have since been thinking more that a single 10 would do the trick but thats where I have stopped.

What would you suggest in a FIT (box type and best place to order, sub brand/type, and amp to compliment the setup), capacitor too? I have also bought a Pioneer Navigation type headunit which if I remember from back in the day they used to put some of the better preamps in their headunits, so an amp for her current door speaker setup may not be necessary until I upgrade those.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated as I need to get on the ball with ordering this stuff. I would like to try and keep it under $500 if possible but really just want great sound quality with a decent amount of bump, willing to spend a little more.

Thanks in advance for all your help,

Josh

i can help you with everything but the box and wires, those you can build and buy locally or get the wires from knuconcepts.how about a set of these for the doors CL 61 CV 150 shipped ,and a pair dc level 2-8's 250 shipped ,and a audiopipe aspm 1300 amp vm innovations has them for 109 i think .thats 509 for the system except wires and box ,which might cost another $70

Man, for something so simple, light weight, and comes with all the wiring you need(power/grnd/remote/rcas, and i think bassknob) that she can manuever herself if she needs to or just throw boxes/ whatever on top, and not hurt it at all, is the Bazooka 8inch amplified 8250,small, and it will be plenty for her,Iam sure.I have the older 8200 in my work truck, and it shakes my outside mirrors in my x-cab chevy, and its under the back seat tucked away not noticable.Easy add on and remove also, and the db level on the subs are above 100.Thats what I recommend, and is amplified!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

I was just on e-bay just now, and pulled up the 8250,and its a single sub w built in amp at 250rms class d amp, for $321 shipped, but There was another for like $8 bucks more that has dual subs, one on each side, with the class d amplifier 250watts for $329.99 shipped-BTA8250A-DE Dual 8"250watt amplified bass tube,by Bazooka

That should BANG Its A S S off in that little FIT car. That should be all you need in one package, and you can hook it up in less than an hour.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Ugh please forgive me for being turned off by the basstubes but I just remember all the wannabees had those back when everyone had big systems. Is that the general consensus that would be the best type setup for the Fit? Originally I had in mind a conventional 8' or 10' in a ported or sealed box, amp and all separate. The price is most definitely right on the Bazooka bc its a powered woofer so i wouldnt have to buy an amp.

Yes she's a girl and im sure she wants some knock just not car audio competition knock... LOL. Sorry for all the noob questions guys, I could have searched but was wondering specifically about a setup for a Honda Fit.

The setup is going to be the same as any other car really. The only difference is that you need to know the front speakers are 6.5 :p A single sealed 12 or 10 would do fine in that car. If you do a pair of those 8s youre going to have it way louder than shell probably want.

I know, I just dont want JUNK that's going to break...

forgive me guys, im just a little lost anymore. So many more manufactures than there used to be and im a little overwhelmed.

you could do....

incriminator audio 187 10" woofer which is $98.00 or 12" for a little more

you can get a mb quart FX1 400 watts for $99 on sonicelextronix.com

there for $200 you can have an amp and woofer.

Sounds like your mirrors aren't on very secure. Why would you even recommend that junk?

Waste of money, OP do not buy this crap

OP don't buy this junk, you can get way better with a single good 8 in a good ported box. Audiobaun, why do you always post dumb ****?

Well, I dont think its junk, sounds great for the money. My mirrors are attatched securely.Junk? Have you even listened to one lately? They hit pretty low, and clean, and weigh 5x lighter than the average wooden box, and easily added to any stereo system, and effecient. If they are such JUNK, then tell me why the they have such a High db level on theyre subs, and perform at the hertz they do, with such min power needed? And have been around for so long?i mean for under $350, you have a dual ported enclosure, a pair of 8s,and a mono d supplied amplifier, along with all the necessary wiring needed to add to an existing system, and doesnt add the excessive weight to the economics of the vehicle.By time you get done with a box /sub/and an amp/amp kit, Im almost certain more than $400 will be spent just adding a sub??And FYI...They do sound GREAT! Hell..go listen to one for yourselves, before you decide to drop the funds.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Put a little system in wifes car a few years ago and it's still goin and she loves it! Real simple setup, single Kicker S8L5 in a sealed box (takes up very little space) and ran by Kicker ZX300 mono amp. It's in Hyundai Tiburon and it is loud for what it is and actually has decent sq. Buy them new online for around $250 for all of it including the box or check CL for the amp. Real common on there and can usually get them real cheap if you find the right person. Got her amp for $70!
