Anyone know where the Negative & positive screws on the back of a 1993 ford explorer sport alternator are. the alt is stock btw.

The positive wire should just have a little boot on it connected to the alt. The negative of the alt should be the engine itself.

ok wrenchguy i found the positive on the alt. now for the neg though what do u mean on the engine itself?

the alternator is grounded by the casing to the engine accessory bracket, which goes to the engine block

oh ok.....so there is no Neg like screw down like on some of the alt's . that's how my mark vii was so i wasn't sure how this one was. Anywhere i can get a pic of this accesory bracket i know know which one im grounding to just to make sure . Just don't wanna fck it up.

just use one of the screws on the alternator, or from the engine block itself, and ground that to the battery

there is a bolt that is connecting alt to a bracket could i ground off of that to neg on battery?

Ground to the bolts that bolt your alt to the bracket.

Yes that is actually was his engine ground on the left. It was like 14 ga wire.

kingdell thanks i appericate those pics man gives me the idea of where i know it is. Plan on working on the BIG 3 once i get home from my aunt's/cousins ugh....hate going over there cause don't get along with any of em , but oh well....Well everyone have a good and happy easter you and your family ill be back on later.

Your alt ground is basically the engine to chassis ground. I use the alt mount bolt its easy enough.
