Trying to bump up my preout voltage. will this work?

I am looking for an equalizer that will boost my pre out voltage. My headunit is 2.5 volts. The one that I am looking at is this one. Clarion eqs746. Here is the link. Amazon.com: Clarion EQS746 1/2 DIN Graphic Equalizer with Built-in Crossover: Car Electronics

It says it has 7 volt pre out. But i am a newbie and I would like your help cause I would love to have this upfront with me as long as it does what I need it too. Thanks.

Thank all of you for your replies. I am going to purchase this unit. But now I have one more question and it is more difficult at least for me. Let me see if I can explain it correctly. When I am connecting the head unit to the eq it only requires one main rca input. But my head unit has 3 rca out puts. subwoofer and front and rear. If I connect subwoofer then wouldnt only low frequencies go to the eq? if I connect the front rca or the rear rca then I wouldnt get no low frequencies from the head unit right? Or do I put a y cable on the subwoofer and the other end of the y cable on one of the front or rear of the head unit to get the full range of frequencies. Am I thinking to much into this? Thanks

You still havent told us why you want higher preout voltage. Chances are you are spending money on something you dont need too.

From the HU to the preamp EQ,you only need to send one set of rca to it/front/or rear, and after that splitting 3 ways from the eq to sub/rear/and front.I will tell you this..if you are into SQ, and want to tune your system, and at your finger tips,on any song, this is a much needed piece of equipment,and I use in every vehicle.I highly recommend for anyone to install one/or even a Line Driver.Directions will help you install the unit, but if you need help,just come on here and ask..its very easy to install,and will be worth the time putting in,especially if you dont have a Time aligned HU,,or a DSP,that cost 1K..Its worth having if you enjoy music

He is correct, I have both, the 7007 sounds better and also you can bypass the filters if needed, with the clarion you cannot bypass the sub filter, it's fixed.
