MY TRUNK RATTLES LIKE A BIZNITCH!! I play my subs and the trunk just vibrates, no bass can be heard over it. I open it, just a crack you know, and air is rushing out. I feel it closed and it feels like it WANTS to open! Is there a way to stop this? Dynamat? is there a CHEAPER substitution to it cuz that shit is expensive! would that stop it? PLEASE HELP!!

the same shit happends to me. I really want to fix it but dont know how. Please help us out.

well there are many different options....first off there is asubstance you can get at the local lowes or similar store...i dont know exactly what its called....but its the same stuff as dynomat...if someone else can get the name of it please help me out....but use that stuff and line your trunk w/ it...also try to get some new rubber surrounds on your trunk or use some thick weather stripping and line your trunk w/ that...it should help out w/ the ratteling....hope ive been of some help....good luck....also check some of the previous post about dynomat....

Another way is to port the box in to the rear deck of the car....I'm not sure if it will cut all the trunk rattle but I believe that it will make a big difference....I had a friend that did this in a tempo and it hit really nice

get some tar paper (aka felt paper) from a harware store and glue it down, its the same thing as dynamat (a friend of mine did it and covered it w/ tin foil and wrote ghetto dynamat on it) also put some weather strip down (as goddyd4me said) and if ur trunk latch will adjust, tighten it down

hope I helped

Port it (PORT HOLE)!

Look on eBay and buy a bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme. The stuff that you buy at Home Depot or Lowe's is very thin and sticks poorly. It is designed for sealing around windows to keep water out. A trick to keep the rattles down is to line everything with dynamat in your trunk. Then cut out MDF and line your trunk with that. The combination af 3/4" MDF and Dynamat will force all of your pressure into the car and not leaking out through the weak body panels. Double layer the Dynamat on the lid and then carpet over all of the woodso everything looks nice.

Guys I have had the same problems all over...

I have a sedan and what i did was fill the boot-lid with space invader that

foam filler they sell at the hardware. Make sure you tape up all the places it can

expand and leak out of with duct tape. Is this dynomat stuff like brown bread? If

so i haven't found a cheaper alternative yet... I have found a cheap supplier of

the sound paint.. (if in Aust) just email your details or questions to

gsperformance@optushome.com.au and i am sure the guys will get back to you.

I think they have a bit of that woll/tar backed material too which is cheaper than

jcars price.

Thicker/new seals are always a way to go to

I like the idea about the double dynomat and the MDFboard, im currently doing that to my mustang.

That expanding foam Great Stuff, works really good to. I used 10 cans in my lumina.

Bed liner works really good, Custom car shops will bed line your car, usually for a decent price!

Yes, like everyone is saying get dynamat. We all know it's expensive but it's the most guaranteed and it really is good stuff. My trunk rattles as well but I can't hear it over my bass because the bass is so loud. If you care so much about your sound quality then it shouldn't matter how much the dynamat cost. Instead of trying to cut corners just go out and buy the good stuff.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i've heard of porting people's trunks. My friend who just move here from Virginia said that he saw at a competition a truck that had 8 12's in the back, and he made like 3 holes in the rear part of the truck, and put 3 big PCV pipes through the holes in the back of the cabin of the truck, and he said that there was no distortion and it was loud as hell. But i've got a hatchback Integra...I'm putting 2 12'' Power HX2's in with a JBL 1200.1 amp to both. am i going to have to worry about the same thing?

I'd try the canned stuff, much cheaper and much easier to use. Only catch is that it has to be 65 deg. outside and if you mess up its water soluble until it dries.......water resistent after it dries. I used it on the inside of my doors as well as my trunk and it made a HUGE difference.!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
