Trunk question

I disabled my trunk switch so the only way to get into my trunk is with my pager. I have an autopage alarm if that will help with my question. But, my alarm went off a few minutes ago and I went out to see that my trunk was open!! Any ideas how this could have happened if somebody didn't have plans of stealing my sub?

Maybe you hit the button by accident? lol I doubt it because on those you have to hold down the button for a couple seconds, but hey it happens.

Which alarm do you have BTW, I have the 720RS or something, 2-way pager, I love it.

I think it's an RF-420LCD. But, my keys weren't where I could have hit the button. And it's the first time I've parked behind my garage where I can't see it from my house... and somehow my trunk just pops open lol.

Was anything else tampered with on your car? Were the doors still locked? Did the alarm go off? Any signs of entry at all?

The alarm was going off but I didn't notice any signs of tampering... That's why I was confused on how it got opened. My keys were sitting a couple feet away from me on the couch though so I didn't open it. But the doors were still locked and everything, just the alarm was going off and the trunk was open. Hopefully if it was an attempt at theft, the alarm and/or my ugly sub box will keep them away.

Does anybody else have keys to your car?

If my alarm is armed it will go off even if I open the door with my key. Or maybe you left your trunk open and somebody was trying to be nice and close it but didn't push hard enough to close it but enough to set off your alarm? I have no idea honestly...I just can't see why if it was attempted theft how they go the trunk open with no signs of entry and why nothing was taken.

How long was it after the alarm went off that you got out there?

around a minute. I got up put some shorts on and walked outside, a total of maybe 100 feet of walking. I'm also curious as to why nothing was taken and how they got in... I'm more curious of the HOW if it was a freak accident that my trunk popped open by itself.

i disable my door lock/unlock for my alarm remotes. to many times id got out to my car and the alarm isnt set. guess when im kickin back inside, with keys in my pocket, i disarm it. dont want my doors unlocked too.

Why would you disable your door locks because you don't know how to stop hitting buttons in your pocket? Just put the keys on the table or something when you come inside, or if you have a 2-Way alarm with an LCD screen remote then there is a good chance you can lock the keys on it. Mine has it.
