Trunk lighting

i wanna cut the wires of my trunk light to wire up a blue neon so that it turns on when the trunk opens...but when i went to do this, theres 3 wires...an orange wire. and 2 black wires...but the neon only has 2 wires...so im wondering what wires i cut and what ones i hook up to what....if it matters i have a 95 cutlass supreme

good question that is a good idea. please let me and this fellow man how to wire a neon to the light in the trunk.

meter them and hook the + and - up accordingly.... aint hard

no no, i didnt think it was, it just puzzled me, i didnt kno what the orange was for

dmm will meter the wires and say + or -??? as in power and ground please help me out. i have a dmm but am not very fluent with it. The knob confuses the F outta me cuz i havnt read any directions.

it will tell you what wires are reciveing voltage so you kno what wires on the neons to hook up to each of the 3 wires on the car
