Im gonna sound deaden my whole trunk but the worst rattles are from the lid. Probaly getting a roll of raammat for this project. How do I go about the nooks and crannys in the trunk lid? Do I just stuff the mat in their or is their some kind of liquid deadner I can fill it all in with?

Honestly, your best bet to get the rattles is foam. Go to home depot or any hardware store and pick up some foam insulation. Use that on the interfaces of anything that might rattle against something else.

Then deaden the trunk lid. If you don't pinpoint exactly what is rattling then you're not doing anything for your problem. There is something in the trunk rattling against something else. Just throwing deadener on top of it won't do anything.

haha, my man, you're thinking about this too hard.

Just use that stuff in between any interface where something is going to hit something else. For example, you have some wires slapping on the trunk lid. Wrap the portion of wire that's hitting and then use some duct tape to make it hold. Do that for every single thing that might cause a rattle. Then go over the trunk with the deadener.

Once you walk outside to your car and find a loose piece of metal that's smacking on the trunk lid you'll see what I'm talking about. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You will.

Foam on the interfaces will stop the rattles more than anything will.

Then apply deadener after you've hit every interface that might rattle.

It's pretty simple. That's why I said you're making this into a bigger deal than it is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Sounds good. I think a lot of people can feel your pain. No doubt it is a drag to be banging your trunk. I am lucky. This time around I have a Ford Escape, no trunk, so I can pound my type R with little if any backlash noise. Good luck to ya!

lol

get that expanding foam called "great stuff" and fill in any gaps there are till the foam comes out alil, on a side note make sure u do not get this stuff anywhere else as it will stick to anythign and everything, wait about 12hrs and get a razor blade and scrape off all the extra, then put ur deadner over it, fixed my dodge neons lid rattle. REMEMBER WEAR GLOVES!!!!!

i hear u can get some peel n seal from home depot....never used it personally but i hear it works, it's just alil more work to get ti too stick , ie: using a hair dryer to warm up the adhesive(sp).
