trunk box help

Okay, so I test fit my ssa zcon 18 in my trunk facing the rear. I only have about a 1/2 inch on either top and bottom.

How hard would it be to calculate box size if I took my spare tire out and angled the woofer up slightly using fiberglass to built into the spare tire cavity and finish the rest of the box as normal?

In general... the amount of time to count each angle in the fiberglassing portion would be next to impossible. I could always fill it with something to check it out but that's not extremely accurate either.

Anyone have a box build guide/pics for an 18 in a trunk?

I don't know that extreme accuracy is necessary in building speaker boxes. At least, not where a tenth of a cubic foot is concerned. So yeah, measuring with some sort of aggregate is the best way to go about it.

I thought maybe you were concerned with how hard the actual fiberglass process would be.

Nah, got my fill of fiberglassing the last couple of summers lol. It's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. I've decided to build the box with the sub at an angle facing up/rear. It'll look nice and fit the best. Hopefully sound and output are good as well.
