True thoughts for all the alpine fans here

Ok, I recently bought a set of type x comps(2005 models) to replace my type R comps(2004 models) and I am still wondering if it was worth the extra money. I was just wanting to start a debate on what your true thoughts were on the two and if it is worth the almost double the price for the x's. To make this somewhat fair to alpine, this is compairing the 2005 R's vs. 2005 X's.

i hate them both! lol both sound good i dont see alot of differance but the deadner is key! i say take crappy speakers in nice install and it will sound decent

i say for the money yhou might as well go with a different brand, im never impressed with alpine speaks, but subs ams and hu's are a differnent story

Im happy with my Typr R comps. Got them for pretty cheap too off of ebay. Only paid 140 shipped for them brand new. They are the 350 watt 6.5's. Although i really cant say how much better they are then other speakers seeing as ive really only listened to these ones hehe.

Overrated. Spend the money on the install instead and it will make WAY more difference.

alpine has never had good speakers in my opinion but the x's do sound great, but i would go with others like, rainbow, CDT, fosgate, or MB Quart

I like them a lot, it seems like everytime I touch them, tuning wise, they get better, I have yet to get a decress in performance. Great speakers for the price, just make sure you sound deaten the crap out of everything around them,hehe
