I drive a Dodge Ram 1500 Ext Cab...

Currently Im trying to build myself a system, as many of you know because many of you have helped which I greatly appreciate! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif (heh)

Now Im considering to make my system something that could go to competition and hold Its own. But are trucks better for SQ or SPL?? My friend was saying their shit on SPL because their is no space for them to create the sound etc... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

So are they more SQ or SPL? Or does it go eitherway?

Oh yah side question... SQ - SQL whats the difference???

I think that is wrong.

your friend is funny

Either way i think you would be allright. Just go for whatever sound you want

I say go SQ tho not enough people do:crap:

I probabbly should seeing how my dashboard is already falling apart and if I brought in the 2000W I was planning on it would probablly shatter...

Either way is it agreed eitherway works?

Well since you have an ext cab truck and you actually might wanna use the whole back area I'd say go with SPL unless you just like SQ. I personally don't have the space for SPL so I kind of am in between.

I don't know, I generally lean more towards SQ, I just can't stand driving and my sight being messed up b/c of a sub. lol

Yup you have the whole rear seat area, as well as the bed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
As well as it is an advantage to getting loud by having less air to compress. Smaller cabin, less air, easier to get loud. CRX's are an example of this.

I started a thread a week or so ago asking a similar question but instead comparing extended cab versus crew cab. Someone ( I forget who ) was arguiing that while it was easy to get relatively loud in a truck, pickups of any kind are difficult to get extremely (nationally competitive) loud as structurally they can be had to deal with. According to him you can lose a lot of SPL due to the rear wall of the cabin vibrating to all hell, even with dampening and deading. This is relative to an SUV / hatch or trunk car.

a super cab truck is the loudest vehicle in the world so what does that tell you about space? just depends what you want but seeing you are saying 2000w is alot of power to be loud its not..so i would lend down to staying in sq

I think trucks are good for SPL. Thats what I am doing. But I think for most people it is a personal preference. Some like SQ, some like SPL.

It all depends on what you want. If you like loud bass that can make peoples jaw drop.....then go for SPL.

If you want something that sounds clean and crisp, go SQ.

My personal preference is SPL.

I don't know if I believe that or not; I'd have to do some research. I say this because in my ext. truck it prefers the windows down. There may not be enough air to compress. SUV's get loud easily, and there's a lot of air.
