Trucks gone...wrx is here

What was the misfire? Just a timing issue?
e85 just doesn't like firing cold in low compression engines, tuner pulled a bit of fuel back at startup and it seems better now

dang it, I go away for a while and this is what happens. Tsk tsk, very dissapointed in you duece //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/slap.gif.87520e8ca8e90076ac30e777c0de5331.gif
Congrats on the new ride though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

Hope you enjoy the new ride though, looks pretty sweet, I wouldn't mind having one for a second vehicle, but I gotta keep the truck first.
I **** man, one or two years with a vehicle and I get bored with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I've already missed my truck when I've had to haul a few things, I'm going to have to pick up a cheap s10 or something someday just to have that capability again.

Rough plan is:
Walboro

Perrin Black Fuel Rails

1000cc Injectors

FMIC probably 24X12X3.5

Garett GT-30 Turbo

With a 19 lb tune on E85
holy balls man, thats alot of turbo, should be fun for sure.

I'm runnin the walbro and the Bosch 1000cc's currently seems to be a good combo for e85 at decent power levels. I think I already have my next turbo picked out too...haha. FP green probably sometime before too long.

I was about to get a good deal at some helix 860cc
but figured I'd just do 1k to make it sweeter
yeah, if you are going to go with that big turbo and e85 it probably wouldn't hurt. Of course at altitude we get screwed with shitty air so don't need quite what people do at sea level.

If you are gonna upgrade the fuel, might as well only do it once though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yup

I'm aiming at a tad over 400 bhp when finished.

harvey at super rupair said the single walbro and bosch 1000's should be fine at 400+ at the wheels on e85. Guess there is only one way to tell.

My goals are a bit lower though, I've seen an FP green do 350hp 360tq on the same dyno I ran on and the spool up didn't really look much worse than my car now. I think I'd be more than happy with that for awhile, I need to force myself to not run out and buy the stuff right away though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Sucks, just like your car I can't run a regular mount turbo unless I get a fmic, do a manifold swap, or do a custom tmic. Wish it was just as easy as slappin on a different turbo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

haha, no worries, ya gotta do what makes ya happy, besides at least you get to experience a wide variety of vehicles.

By the sounds of things with the mods you guys are talking should be a pretty sweet ride anyways. 400hp at the wheels sure gotta be fun with that little weight. AWD donuts FTW:D

Didn't realize how much I needed my truck until I got rid of it. Still need a truck just not one that big that gets 8mpg in town.

The air up here sucks so I won't see 400hp, takes too big a turbo and too much lag for my likings to make that. It is fun to have a car that has so much available for power upgrades compared to my 4.6 truck which had basically nothing.

Yea 8 mpg does ****, was a pretty slick looking truck though

Lag is a killer, some refer to it as Foreplay though, but not the greatest on a daily driver and stuff. Having the available upgrades are definitely key, even if your not gonna use them all just knowing that your car is supported through a strong aftermarket is good fun.

Don't invest in a TMIC, none of them will perform properly, there just isn't enough space if you plan on upgrading a turbo.

I'll give you a hint //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Take out your intake manifold, and take out the flaps. should increase air flow by 20%. And if you want to really see gains, find a shop to port and polish. That's what i'm looking to do with either the jdm wrx 2.0 manifold or a sti 2.5

should of bought an sti...what were you thinking?
I was thinking with the money I put into it I now have more power than a stock STI and still spent about 7k less than an sti. My insurance is much cheaper than sti insurance. I just can't dig the wagon, like the sedan better which doesn't come in the STI version. I also don't ever autocross or corner hard or any of that, just wanted an econo car that was fun to drive. The regular wrx is also a few hundred pounds lighter than the STI.

Not knockin the STI, just the extra costs wouldn't really gain me anything towards my goals personally. If I autocrossed or anything like that then I'd look into them more.

get the paper tag off the back window as soon as you can and don't do it with a razor blade.........who ever your salesman was that put it on the tint should be shot. pull it very slowly so it takes the glue with it and doesn't ruin the tint.

good call man, never really thought of that, I'll be pulling that off since I'll be gettin plates when I get back from vaca anyhow

So the car is more fun now. Rotated 30r, black fmic that isn't too noticeable from the front, header, and ppg gears. Unfortunately I have to break in the new turbo and clutch so its set at only 16lbs currently, still pulls hard, should be really fun around 22lbs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:
