Truck is acting very wierd after new alt

Ok so last week my alt went out and I went to advanced and bought just an OEM alt nothing fancy or anything.

Well, I know why my last one went out and its b/c of my system. A 1500W amp and an SX18 on a stock battery and 4ga wiring. So thats what did it in.

Well now Im wiser and I have practically turned my amp off (gains are all the way down) and now my truck is acting really strange.

Before when the alt went out, my truck would just shut off at random. I could be at a stop light or in my driveway and it would just shut off and come back on. Lights and radio would die and then come back and my h/u would be reset.

Well now I got my new alt and when I first put it on it was all fine and better. Now when I first crank it up the lights will flicker from dim to bright and my voltage will rise and drop and today it started acting like it was missing and the lights and shit would dim as well. Seems like its getting worse day by day.

So Im stumped, its still showing symptoms from when my alt went out but it hasnt just died on me yet. And btw, this is on a 95 Silverado 5.0L.

Anyone have any thoughts?

yes i cleaned them recently

chech the battery grounds too might as well do the big 3 while you are at it

The battery itself is probably bad or going that way.
