Truck box port question

I have a single cab Dodge Ram, and am building a ported enclosure for a Type R 12. Dimensions are 34 x 14.5 x 9, with the sub facing the front.

Would it be better for the port to point towards the front, or up?

up in a truck. it needs a few inches to vent right.

Even to the front, it's got about 4 or 5 inches.

I actually already built a box that ports to the front. It sounds fine, but was wondering if it makes any difference going up. If it will make a significant difference, I'll build another one that ports up.

usually port towards passenger side wall is best.
