I was bored, and a member on another forum suggested this idea so I decided to give it a go.
Threw in 4 strips of 24cm white led lights under the bed rails on my dakota. Picked up the el'cheapo leds off egay and cost me $10.50 for all 4. Used some 3m adhesive tape to attach.
After wiring them up, I took a fuse and found my trailer hitch harness. I have a rollpan and no hitch, so I decided to tap into this harness for my constant.
Finally, I ordered a pin switch from parts express for $5. After trimming the switch to appropriate length, I installed it where a factory grommet was previously so that the lights will turn on automatically when the tailgate is opened.
