I drive a 2000 nissan maxima with a bose sound system, 4 speakers + subwoofer. A few months ago my subwoofer just cut out completely. A friend was riding in the back and said he heard it pop or something, but I don't know. Then about a month after that the subwoofer cut back in. No problems at all with the rest of the speakers. Since then the subwoofer has been cutting in and out, pretty annoying.

I don't know much about speakers, I guess I know a little about how guitar amplifiers and speakers work. But beyond that the cars audio is pretty foreign to me. Can anyone recommend a way to check to see if the amp or the speaker is broken or how to fix it? I'm afraid something is just coming loose and I could tighten it and be fine. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
