planning a basic setup here.

car 2000 explorer

head unit kenwood mp 44u2 (not exact model number but similar)

4 alpine speakers

old school no name 4 channel amp

Im having trouble putting it all together. how do i get my head unit connected? i know i need some kind of harness but would it be vehicle specific or head unit specific? or both? and since the head unit has front/back/sub rcas and i will be using those to go to the amp and then speaker wire from amp to the speakers, so do i even to plug all that speaker wire stuff in behind the head unit besides the rcas, antenna, and remote turn on?

You need a harness to splice together with the one that came with the deck... It will then plug into your stock electrical so you dont have to cut anything... No you do not need to wire the speaker wires in the harness if your using an amp... you will need 4 channel RCA's and they will go into the front and rear outs on the deck...

Should just be able to pick on up at Bestbuy or whatever... Not really a big ticket item youll save a ton of money on by ordering...
so just get a generic 4 gauge kit and a vehicle specific radio wiring harness?
