Under processes I have a list of things going, but I can't copy paste it because I can only highlight one process at a time. Would the virus be in here? The CPU column is 0's all the way down, but the processes are using memory.

Sorry about the delay. I ran it in safe mode the first time just checking my computer the second time I did a complete test and nothing came up with the Anti virus either time. I was able to delete that .Dat in my cookies in safe mode so that's gone. Now I'll try that link for the software that searches for anit-virus that was suggested to see if it finds anything.

One more thing that's interesting. I downloaded a free piece of software that is supposed to find spyware, trojans, and worms. Initially it was showing three items that it found in my cookies. Now that I ran it in safe mode and deleted that .Dat file the Xoftspy found all files to be clean.

When you installed Symantec, did you run the autoupdate? If you just did a plain install of NAV without updating the virus definitions, then it's quite obvious why it wouldn't find a particular virus. Running any kind of AV program without updating it is even more useless than running nothing at all.

As for the people who state that NAV sucks, I'm still convinced that Symantec hires virus writers just to create new business. Either way, I've had no problems with NAV, except the fact that as soon as I install it, my system slows down to a crawl.

I love Norton! It has worked thus far. I keep it updated all of the time.

I've used Norton for about 5 years now and it has done a great job for me. I also keep mine updated consistently and have had NO virus problems thus far.

Seriously, I guarantee that if the program couldn't delete it, it's because it's running in the background ...
Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and list what is running ... What OS are you running ?

I wasn't able to use this. I deleted the file in safe mode and was afraid to put it back on my pc to see what that file was through the site you gave, but in the future I will use it to test suspicious stuff. Thanks.
