Trimming box for different 10" sub cutouts? Am I stuck if I go larger?

Hello,

Looking at ordering a 10" box however the sub Pioneer ts-sw2502 is 9-3/4 cutout and I noticed some are 9-1/8 like the MB Quart ds1 254 and Sundown SD is 9-1/4.

I know there's a trim ring and screws are on outside but if I cutout for larger am I screwed later if I want to switch to say a 9-1/8 sub? Just trying to confirm as that may switch my sub pick!

Could be. When I had my new JL Audio sub installed, the guy came out and one point and said they'd have to open up the hole which fit my Alpine SWR-t12 perfectly and I told them to go ahead and do it because this new JL Audio sub was gonna be my new sub. And it sounds GREAT!

Thanks! Yea I'm knew to the shallow game, don't want to go largest plus subs come out all the time! Lpl

Best way to allow this flexibility would be to build an enclosure with replaceable front enclosure panels and have a different sub cutouts to fit the particular sub driver you'd be using. Of course this would require designing into the sub enclosure from it's start!

Thanks! Yea with newborn and toddler no time for all that. Trying to be budget friendly with a little extra, already went all out before lol. Anyone have experience or reviews on below setup, also included box info.
