tricking amp? 4Ohm sub, want 2Ohm load

ok, well i just got a TMA 500.1 amp as my old amp blew. one thing i forgot about is that my sub is a 4 ohm single voice coil sub. i want to get the full 500 watts out of the TMA. at 4 ohm the powre output is 340W. is there any way to trick the amp into giving full power to the sub without blowing the amp? it is a monoblock amp, only one output.

i thought about wireing a 4 ohm resistor into the circuit, but decided against it. i figured id ask you guys.

no a resistor would give you less power.

just buy another of what you got.

or turn the bass boost all the way up.

Lol no. You should have just bought the right sub for the amp or vice versa.

That's a good way to blow an amp. You should never ask the amp to put out more than what it's rated for. That's exactly what a bass boost does.

thats what i figured. unfortunatly i forgot that i only had a SVC sub. implu and bass boost are maxed. i kno the sub can perform better, its just lacking the power it wants. "sigh" im going to check tomorrow and see if i can upgrade to the TMA 1000.1, its rated at 500W at 4 Ohms. thanks guys

just get a different sub, you'll probably need one soon when you blow it from having everything maxed out.

^^ this ^^ lol Did you remember to max out the bass boost on your hu too? lol Just buy a DVC 500watts rms sub you will be happy.
