Treo 1500.1 not enough for 15" BTL??

Well I finally got my Treo back from repair and got it hooked up to my 15 BTL. Dont get me wrong, its d@mn loud but I guess I just expected more. I know the sub can take more and I figured 3000w would satisfy me but I guess not. My box is roughly 4.25 cubes at 32.5hz. the low end is just plain retarded loud but it lacks the upper end. I dont want to push the amp any harder so should I build another box tuned around 35hz or just get a bigger amp? Or both

Anybody want a treo 1500.1??

well if its tuned to 32.5 i think that is your answer right there why your higher end isnt as loud

Yeah, i know its tuned for the low end but I guess I didnt realize .how much upper was really gonna fall off. My main concern is more power. I really thought the Treo would have been enough. Would tuning 2-3hz higher make that much of a difference?

try 3.8 or 4 ft. and tune a little higher. yes every hz counts and makes a noticable difference

the btl seems to lack upper end in many installs ive seen (including mine). i used 4.5 @ 33hz. i would seriously suggest 3.75 or so at 36+hz. try to create a little peak up top by making the box smaller and tuning higher. you should still have good low end since the btl almost has too much to begin with.

I have to honestly say that although Treo amps are nice, the 1500.1 doesn't put out 3k at 1 ohm. I've heard alot of people say this and someone tested one to do something like 2200 or so on 14.4 volts, if I remember correctly. Unless another person does another bench test, I'm going to say the 1500.1 does 2200 rms. Yeah, the birthsheet says 3200 rms but that's just a number they print. Everyone of those 1500.1's come with the same number on thier birthsheet.

I kept hearing the same thing before I got mine installed too. After tweaking it a little more today I realized the BTL really is a low end monster. BME click is just plain ridiculous on this thing. But then some of the songs that used to slam on my other systems dont as much with this one. I.E bia bia... which I love the way it sounds but it isnt as loud as most because the bass line is higher. My dilemma is if I tune higher I dont want to lose the way it rips the lows now. Hows the HDC3 working for ya George?

its working, still making that noise, and still doesnt have a huge bottom end in the current box. not much has changed lol
