tre of false 151- 149 db in street 1

I thought CRXs where not allowed in MECA?
I wish they werent allowed in street classes. LOL

Theres one in Street 2 thats got me worried.

FYI the exact basket that got the 149 in Street 1 is in my classifieds ad right now. He had a Maxximus motor on it at that time.

That is the stupidest form of competion.. Stick to usaci or db drag..
So if I understand you correctly, going off fusing is stupid, but using 4 ohm ratings isn't?

This isn't 1998. 4 ohm ratings are completely pointless. At least with MECA you can run whatever amp you want versus the handful that will do you any good in USACi.

Every org. has their ups and downs. DB Drag isn't even competition anymore. Hell, I can't think of a drag show I've been to in the past 4 years that's had full brackets in ANY class besides bassrace.

Truth be told I think midwestspl is on the right path, but they need to spread out more. ACTUAL clamped power versus ratings or crappy fuses or whatever.

And yes, crx's are still allowed in MECA, however they are limited to 26" off the back panel for their sub enclosure. Makes things a little more fair. Here's a hint though, mini trucks are the way to go for street. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Mini trucks won 4 out of the 5 street classes last year, with the one class they didn't win coming in a close second to a crx.

Im not an expert on fuses, but from what I understand, most/all of them will pass more than their rated current through them, its simply a matter of how long before they will fail. The fuse's element does not heat up instantaneously. I do know that you can buy 'slow blow' fuses in an industrial setting.

Most fuses that competitors use (AGU's, ANL's and mini ANL's are most common) usually will let at least 3x their rating pass before eventually blowing.

This is the inherent flaw in the MECA rules. I've been fighting for them to switch to clamping current draw, but have met a lot of resistance from people who, in my opinion, are afraid to lose the power they can currently use.

I can get a 60amp to last about 20 seconds on my Crescendo BC2K at .5.. With 2 12s cone area. Im trying to do S1 since this will be my first time competing. I have a few more months to experiment since the hurricane canx the show till late October.
