torrent question

i downloaded a movie last night. ended up being in a .rar format, so i extracted it and loaded up as a .avi. when i play it, the picture is all messed up and i dont have any sound. is there some kind of plugin i need or something? it did for a couple other shows i downloaded too.

are you using VLC player?

that happens with some movies when i use windows media player

dl VLC player, its alot smoother too IMO

yeah i tried it in windows media player, and its messed up. i tried it in mplyerc, the sound is fine but the picture is still messed up. i checked the torrent from where it was downloaded, and people were saying its a great rip, no problems with their pictures.

VLC Media player FTMTW...I dont use WMP, Realplayer or anything else for vids...just that for vids and winamp for audio...

i use nero showtime. possibly a problem w/ your codec tho
