I recently got a 2002 jeep grand cherokee and i need a new headunit, but i am really torn between these 4 head units....

Eclipse CD5100

Alpine 9886

Kenwood x792

Kenwood x693

Can anyone recommend what they think would be the best option as far as a decent system consisting of comps and a sub in the future would be? I am also open to other options in the $2-300 range

thanks

Out of the ones you listed, I would choose the 5100 Eclispe, which is a nice deck. The Kenwoods are not bad either. Not a fan of Alpine HU's, maybe old school Alpine, but nothing in the last 10 years, but that is just one mans opinion.

Don't get the 880 PRS unless you like to tune a lot! Had it and I like to think I know what I am doing, but that deck just was to much for me. Simple is my life, lawl!

Love my JVC 7500 Arsenal and is way under 200 at most places, but they have the 8500 witch is my deck but more EQ options and can do active, which is nice.........if you know what you are doing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif That one runs right around 200.

I have had almost every brand of deck out there and for older ones, hard to beat Alpine and newer models, I really am enjoying my JVC deck, which is something back in the day I would never have thought of.

thanks, where can i locate myself one of these JVC's? I have been looking around on the internet and haven't really been able to find one...

Im looking for something that has some sort of EQ although not outrageous, doesnt need to go active, atleast 4V preouts, and USB.

yeah i have been hearing that too...

what about the kenwood excelon x792?

Looks like a pretty nice unit, decent feature, and only $170 from sonic lol.. any feedback on those?

it just seems to me, although i like the look of the 9886 the best, it just isnt worth buying it because its just a USB headunit with a fancy display, no real EQing unless i buy the imprint which isnt worth it. Also, the 9887 doesnt have USB built in. Between buying the 9886 with imprint and the 9887 with USB, are you paying the same price?
