top mounted sub where to port?

Depends on too much for a simple answer, but consider this....as long as you build it with the port facing either side, you should be able to flip it around to have it face the other without changing the dimensional setup, just from driver to passenger. This way you can listen to both ways and figure which would be the best for your preference. So if you build it with the port on the rear passenger side, when u flip it, it will be on the front driver side. Or build it in the center if possible. Best I can tell you without knowing the phase coorelation of the design. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif hope that helps

ive tried front and back..in my car it was louder to the front. and the back it sounded way better but not as loud
Here is why.....in the front, you have more of a direct path. This direct path output is much higher than reflected output based on reverberation time. But, this can come at the cost of quality, if the driver exhibits some form of overexurted force or small amounts of uncontrollable distortion. But the rear will sound better by hiding the direct path distortion levels and overpowering them by reverb. And since it now relies on reflective sound, it takes time for that to build up and transfer into the cabin in which is loses output more than directly facing the cabin due to distance of the sound waves. Does this make sense?
