As far as the list goes, I think 'Top 5 most Influential Bands' would be different for me than top 5 bands in history... I have a lot of favorites, but I think there were a ton of early groups that either directly or indirectly influenced the bands I listen to today.

Honorable mention for the Beatles even though I don't care for their music.

I can say that these 5 bands influenced about 98% of the music that I love today... I have way too many favorites to mention. APC/Tool are definitely toward the top of the list though.
