Too much raamat. seriously

my car is a smaller subaru outback sport. I heard sound deadening was a great thing, so i got some raamat after reading about several ones. it just seemed like a good price/ability. so i ordered 2 rolls and some ensolite. i went to town on the first 4 doors, 3 layers behind speakers, as far as i could reach, with one of ensolite, one layer on the outside covering all holes on and around speaker too. I still had plenty of sheets left and my rear door is the only one that makes noise anyway, i just wanted to save my speakers from as much damage as possible.

so anyway, i went to town on my rear door panel, there were moving parts so i decided to do the panel rather than the door. after a while i still had sheets left, quite a lot. so i decided to pause and lift it up. thing weighs like 20 lbs now. i figured this would be enough for sure. so i layered with ensolite and tried to put it on. i feel like the pins could hold the weight for sure after having to rip them all off. but there is too thick of a layer of raamat/ensolite on it. it is hitting somewhere. i can close it and open it slowly after removing a little from an obvious contact area. but if i open it fast the whole thing just pops off.

Main question: does anyone know any good methods to figure out where the raamat/ensolite is making contact with the door? such as something to apply to the door and see it on the door panel. i was thinking flower, but i don't really want flower that near all my electronics. i also would like to not just pull off all the stuff until it fits, i only want to remove the areas touching the actual door.

You should have asked for advice before doing several layers of deadener. A good vibration damper, which your RAAMmat is, does not need to be applied in multiple layers to have a good effect at controlling resonance noise. To address your problem, you should begin pealing off and trimming layers until the panel fits well and stays on. "Too much raamat" indeed. You're not the first person to get carried away with the sound deadening.
