I've seen the Crue, they're good. Tommy's not the only and definitely not the first to drum upside down though.

I saw motley crue a few years back and it was freakin awesome. For his drum solo though he only was raised in the air.

One time I went to see Def Leppard, drummer only used one arm. Think the other one was tied behind his back or something. Was crazy.
