docutech whats your thoughts on blu ray playing an uncomporessed track and say dts?

i dont know the settings you run on your receiver either but i just run the manual eq and have the receiver on "pure direct" with no other processing

I can tell a difference in sound from the PS3 and my Oppo. THe difference is mainly in the special effecs (explosions, ambient sound, separation etc) I also have my receiver set to "Pure Direct"

I dont own a HD player so I couldnt tell you what it sounds like compared to what I hear.

the picture quality is a tad better on most titles on hd-dvd but blu ray has more titles with uncompressed tracks.

oh yah their $299 at best buy and you get the 5 movies from toshiba and if you buy the matrix at the same time htey give you 2 more movies on the spot!

btw every time neil and mister smith where fighting the bass would shake the ish out of my chair! a good amount of 20-30 hertz bass

oh yah did you pick up pirates or not a pirates fan? i only picked up part 2 just for the hell of it. i really cant wait for teh spidy movies to hit blu ray but that wont be for months

blu ray did get a big 2 to 1 sales jump when the p3 came out
but it has died big time! their toe to toe right now

you got to think about all those ps3 owners not all own hdtv's so they probably bought a movie or two in hopes of seeing a difference but didnt.

and at $40 per fox title and no extras at all and their lowest quality disc's (bd 25-mpeg2 no uncompressed track that is usable)

people arent gonna keep buying those.

and now that fox and disney have delayed ALL their titles just makes things worst for blu ray

and universal is releasing like 100 titles from this month to like 3 months and blu ray gets like 20 if that lol

btw the matrix was just AMAZING i got back from exchanging my broken disc and watch the last movie and wow if you dont like the matrix i dunno what you like!

i did get pirates 2 on blu ray though but im watching that one tonight.

id like to see that. I still dont see why microsoft doesent start incorporating the HD DVD drive into the 360. seems to me like it would boost the consoles popularity, and also HD DVD's popularity.
