well tommorow @ 12:30 were gonna bus up to raleigh to goto meps (millitary enlistment processing station)...

my recruiters told me they have an open slot for nuclear weapons so depending on my depth perception i might have that in the sack... although id rather do a few others before that if possible...

whatever you do make sure you have a guaranteed job on your enlistment papers before you sign and take that last final oath or else you'll be stuck in a job you might not like.

air force is not like that... ive already asked about that... you have to give the oath + sign up before you are given your profession...

but on the plus side you dont really have to choose anything if what you want is not currently open... delayed entry program FTW

about that first part, who'd you ask, a recruiter?? cause i used to be air force and i'll tell you that it is like that. IF you don't have a guarranteed job on your enlistment papers than during the final week of boot camp your instructor will tell you what tech school you are going to (the school for the job you'll be doing). people with guarranteed jobs wont be told anything cause it's in their contract, eberyone else gets told where thier going cause if it's not in your enlistment papers than they'll put you where people are needed. the time when i was going in the jobs most people got that went in as 'open' basically got sent to security forces or services (people that work in the galley, hotels, gyms).

ooo... well ya then ill select what i want... i have my whole list filled up already... so either way im gonna get something that i want to do (plus i did really good on my asvab + im going in as a senior airman because of my college)

did you see that you're going in as an e-4? jw cause last i was told the highest you can enlist in as was an e-3. might have changed but if i was you i'd double check with someone other than a recruiter. going in as e-3 is just about the max you can go in as in any branch. and do you know what bases you have picked out for your 'dream sheet' yet? good thing to do would pick a job or two before you sign up, and check then check bases you want to see how badly they need those people.

but ya... im hoping ill be deloyed to pope afb... i dont want to leave north carolina if possible... call me stupid but i love the girl im with now and id hate to lose her just because id be deployed somewhere else

airman basic - e-1

airman - e-2

airman first class - e-3

senior airman - e-4

but good luck getting the base you want. have been told by a very, very reliable source the chance of getting the base you want out of tech school is around 5%. i say if you love her like that, marry her before you leave.
