To those running around 3000 RMS

Reason i am posted this is because i have around 2600 RMS in my Daily driver and at idle my voltage drops when i have my system at my normal volume 60/80 on the cd player. I wanted to see what i needed to stop the voltage drops, i wanted to see what people with that amount of power do to maintain good voltage at idle. I have already upgraded my alt to a 220A alt, that puts out 150A at idle, and my batt is an 1100A Rockford/Exide Orbital. The big 3 is done with 2/0awg and i have a 1 farad cap. At idle my voltage drops to around 10.5 and my batt light comes on. I had my alt and batt checked out and they were working properly so what could i do to stop this from happening because at about 1500 rpms i can maintain 12-13v. How can i maintain more voltage at idle, enough to keep my batt light from coming on?

that happened to me when i had like 1000watts on a shitty battery and two amp distributed through a non fused distribution block. now i am running about 1600rms watts with the a fused distribution block and it is still 14 volts at idel. i no its not what you have but i was just tryin to help out

ditch that 1 farad cap. The only cap worth getting with that power is 50-100 farads and that's if you're electrical system is up to par. Put a couple kinetik batteries in the back. You can find HC800s for about 100 shipped, get 2-3 of those and that shoudl do it.

Bad ground somewhere?

Where are you getting the low voltage reading?

Alternator? Battery? System? Inside the car?

And are you the same guy who made this exact same post last night? Cause there was an identical 3 page post at like 2am last night.

I am running 2 Viper 1200's and a Viper 200.4 and the alt i had built was built by Iraggi with a custom overdrive(smaller)pulley to give me more at idle. I had it tested and it is doing 150A+ at idle and 220A and 1800 rpms. I am getting the low voltage reading from my 1 farad cap and when it reads that low after a little bit my batt light comes on.

i'm suprised those two alternators are happy like that, undercoverpunk, the one on the left looks like it would slip alot, with like 15 degrees of contact

have you thought about putting a tensioner or idler between the two?

No slip... ever.... the tensioner is just to the left of it, and there is a good angle there.... so that must be doing the trick...

400A of alt... FTW.
